I HAVE BEEN WITH THIS MALE FOR 3 1/2 YEARS. WE HAVE HAD OUR FIGHTS AND STUFF, BUT THIS TIME IT IS TRULY OVER. IT IS SO HARD TO LET IT GO. THE MERE THOUGHT OF HIM BEING WITH ANOTHER WOMAN MAKES MY STOMACH ACHE. I REALLY NEED SOME ADVICE ABOUT MOVING ON AND FINDING MY REAL TRUE LOVE. I AM 25 Y/O AND HE IS 26 Y/O. I HAVE SO MUCH INVESTED IN THAT RELATIONSHIP. I WANTED TO MARRY HIM AND HAVE CHILDREN WITH HIM. I FEEL AS IF MY HOPES AND DREAMS HAVE DIED WITH THE RELATIONSHIP. I REALLY THOUGHT HE WAS THE ONE. WHAT DO I DO? I KINDA WANT HIM BACK BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS A GOOD IDEA. I HAVE DEALT WITH A LOT OF INFIDELITY IN OUT RELATIONSHIP. THE FINAL STRAW WAS A TEXT MESSAGE FROM A GIRL SAYING SHE WANTED TO ';DO'; HIM. THIS HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER WE BROKE UP-- MAYBE A WEEK LATER. SHE ALSO SENT HIM A PICTURE OF HERSELF. AFTER WE BROKE UP, WE WERE THINKING ABOUT GETTING BACK TOGETHER, THAT'S HOW I SAW HIS PHONE. ANY SUGGESTIONS? How to get over a 3 1/2 years long relationship? ?
My heart really goes out to you. And no matter how much it hurts today you should be so thankful that you never married the guy. And give it time, you will get over him. Just remember that you had a life before he came into your life. And you will get your life back now that he's out. You are still very young and you will meet someone who can treat you with respect. And mark my words when I say that it's just a matter of time when he'll be doing the same thing to this new girlfriend of his. Try to keep busy. And go out with your friends. I was in your shoes, I started going out to clubs and getting sex from different men, it was a huge high for me to have a different guy every week, of coarse use protection, but really all you need is self confidence to help you jump off the boat. Don't do one night stands though because they usually suck, try meeting guys at bars or night clubs and do them at the first chance you get, hopefully you'll find some men that know how to work it!
