Is life meaningless, or a joke? And is America the cause?

People have been making a big deal out of life lately, but I don't see the point anymore...

Marriage; marriage is supposed to be 'sacred'. A life time commitment to someone whom you love--And I'm told to look at it that way... But how can I do that when people just seem to give up, and get divorced for the dumbest reasons.(Of course excluding: Abuse, Infidelity, etc.)

Family; I'm told to believe it's a close bond between people by blood, that can't be compared to any other form of companionship... How can I believe that when these days there are more families splitting up. How can children feel their parents love them when 'Mommy', or 'Daddy' just leave each other and have a so-called ';Family'; with another person. (Nothing sacred about that.)

People; How can I believe people are no different than me, and I should always have love for them--When there are more hate crimes, and disregard for the life's of one another ever day. It seems people are growing apart.

Religion; My religion teaches to be generous, put others before yourself, and always be accepting--But the people of my religion seem to be some of the most hateful people I've ever met. And they can't be too generous. They never use the money they make for helping others, they just add on to the Church's, already massive, structure.

Living; I have to go to school, so I can have good job (Which I'll probably hate), so I can have money (The root of all evil). Money is on EVERY ONES' mind all the time. It's practically the soul of the world--When in reality it's simply paper...

Love; The closest of bonds. Shared between two people, so they can forever rely on, and comfort each other. More people say the ';...love';, each other all the time. They made the word meaningless! How can I take sex seriously, when porn is advertised non stop?

These things started in America...Is life meaningless, or a joke? And is America the cause?
I agree with you on pretty much all those things. But let me elaborate:

Marriage: Half of them end in divorce, and it's not really hard to see why. People have become so self-absorbed. They hardly seem capable of caring about another person. All marriages now--maybe always--are things of convenience. (You marry a person so you won't be alone, to have support and ';stability,'; for tax purposes.) It's truly saddening. My own parents split up because of financial problems. I agree, this is the fault of America.

Family: Once it was a symbol of longevity and structure and all that. It doesn't mean anything now though. The reason for that is that 50% of marriages end in divorce. Missing one parent, alot of people are raised with the same mentallity as their folks. I don't feel my parents loved me...which brings me to the issue of...

People: Something I disagree with you on is that people are different. What makes you any different from me? That I was raised differently? That my culture or religion or social status might be different than yours? No. People become farther apart only because we fail to see that really, we're all exactly the same: lonely, bitter, what have you. People are growing apart because of mentalities of difference.

Religion: I don't see religion as something that's STARTING to be corrupted by this world. It has always been this way. The Dark Ages especially were less about caring or and sort of belief, but more about property and power and status. The Church...It has always been corrupt, regardless of religion. It's about the only thing I can't blame the western world for...

Living: We're raised by parents who were told that in order to be ';happy'; (yet another overused word) they needed to 1.) go to school and get a decent education. 2.) Get a job (higher the better). 3.) MAKE MONAY! and 4.) Start a family and repeat the cycle. What good is money going to do for me? I never saw my parents happy--ever. So what can they possibly know about happiness? What will little green strips of paper do for me? Nothing. No...

Love: It's been so overused that it's become mechanical, a dead word that means nothing. Like ';pass the butter'; or ';how was school?'; Very few people will ever find out what it means. But there are a few that do. Have YOU had your girlfriend die on you? No? I have. I know what love is. Porn? That's a seperate issue altogether, entirely blamable by the Internet's ability to transfer things immidiately. And we go back to...

Western Culture: It has inspired greed--policians who care more about personal gain than human beings. It has inspired aggression--segregation in the past (and in other ways today, even) has created true racial hatred, spawning these crimes and this ';me against the world'; mentallity. (A mentallity which many of us, you and me included, share.) It continues in a cycle--parents raise children to become greedy, neglect them, and train them to become bitter, angry adults, who in turn beget children that they will raise in the same way. Everything you say is true. I can't deny that.

Solution: The meaning of life isn't any of the things you mentioned. The only true reason for living is freedom. The ability to do whatever I want, to go wherever I want--to say whatever I want, the way I say sit here and criticize America if I want to. Ironically, the only place in the world that you can do this is in is America. Now, is life worth living?...I'm not entirely sure. My reason is to break that cycle, to become more caring than my parents and to try and help people see the good in the world. And I do that on my own terms: by just living my own life and not bothering with others.

I help. That's why I'm here.

That's good enough for me, for now.

I'm done ranting now. Good luck with finding the answers to your questions. Or in changing this world. Whichever. Whatever...Is life meaningless, or a joke? And is America the cause?
Please dont put all the blame on America that is not being fair ok we are all to blame - and yes life is meaningless ware born to die and thats it their was billions of years before you and their will be billions of years after you so in truth everything is meaningless HAHAHAHAHA.
yes, yes and yes
I will address some of these to the best of my ability.

People: Hate has always been around, and America is not the blame. There will always be horrible people who think that they are doing the right thing, so try to ignore them. Just know that for every douche-bag there is an absolute saint in the world.

Marriage: With the decline of religious standards, and people thinking less about the long term effects in favor of living in the moment, plus men who are different during the courtship process are why marriage is at a new low.

Living: The LOVE of money is the root of all evil. It is what one does with said money what matters. Also, there is a job out there for everyone that involves something they love. Some people love to work on cars, or some people like working with animals, or being heroes, or simply they get a kick out of solving problems. Money itself should be a means of how to get by.

Religion: Ignore what other people do, ';save yourself'; Acts (verse something). Like I said earlier there will be bad people everywhere, you can't judge religion based on a society whose regard for it has declined.

Love: With the current hypersexualized pop culture, what more do you expect. But real love does exist out there, and trust me, its feels better to be by the side of someone you absolutely adore, and to know that they fell the same way about you than any act of sex.
I have so much to say about this however this site will say it well and be more informative for you ....

Love is patient,

love is kind.

It does not envy,

it does not boast,

it is not proud.

It is not rude,

it is not self-seeking,

it is not easily angered,

it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil,

but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects,

always trusts,

always hopes,

always perseveres.

Love never fails...
